OCTOVO is in preparation. This catalogue describes the connections implemented in the application; it does not promise public availability. Suitable accounts, permissions and a configured installation are required.

Email

How to connect
OCTOVO currently uses an app password for Gmail.
What you should know
Your account must allow app passwords. IT policies can restrict access in managed Workspace accounts. This does not connect Google Calendar.
Outlook / Microsoft 365Your Microsoft mailbox, directly from OCTOVO.

Draft and send email and organise messages and folders.
How to connect
Sign in with Microsoft in your browser when Microsoft access is configured in your installation.
What you should know
Sign-in requires a configured Microsoft application. Company policies may also require IT approval and enabled mailbox access.

Calendars

How to connect
Calendar account with address and password or app password. A connected Nextcloud can also provide calendar access.
What you should know
Google Calendar and Outlook do not use this workflow in OCTOVO. Changes to shared calendars are visible to others with access.

Separate calendar authorisation through Microsoft in the browser; configured Microsoft access required.
What you should know
The Microsoft workflow does not yet cover all CalDAV features. Invitations and advanced editing or cancellation features are not generally available.

Messages

Stay in the conversation. Even on the move.

WhatsApp in the browserWork with your existing chats.

Read chats in your signed-in WhatsApp Web session and prepare replies.
Edit & send
Enter and send messages through the browser interface, subject to your approval settings.
How to connect
Scan the QR code in OCTOVO’s own browser. The session is separate from your usual browser.
What you should know
This is not an official WhatsApp API connection. Automated browser use can lead to an account restriction. You must sign in again yourself if the session expires.
Telegram botGive OCTOVO tasks from your phone.
Read & understand
Receive messages from your paired bot chat.
Edit & send
Return replies and approval requests to that chat.
How to connect
Create your own bot, enter its token and pair your chat using the code shown in the app.
What you should know
No access to your entire Telegram inbox. OCTOVO works only while your computer is running. Bot chat content passes through Telegram.
iMessage on your MacBring messages on your computer into your work.

Read local conversations and their history.
Edit & send
Send iMessages through the Messages app.
How to connect
Full Disk Access in macOS; sending also requires permission to control the Messages app.
What you should know
Only content stored on this Mac is available. Messages stored only in iCloud are not automatically accessible.

Your own Meta app, page ID and page access token.
What you should know
No private Facebook profiles. Visibility and permissions depend on your Meta app’s mode; reach is restricted in development mode.
Instagram business accountPublish an image and its caption together.
Read & understand
OCTOVO cannot yet read direct messages or comments through this connection.
Edit & send
Publish individual image posts with captions.
How to connect
Business account with a linked Facebook Page, your own Meta app and a suitable access token.
What you should know
The image must be publicly accessible via HTTPS. A local file alone is not enough. Reels and message management are not listed as available features here.

Files & collaboration

Keep documents in your working environment.

Nextcloud / WebDAVFiles, tasks and context from your cloud.
Read & understand
List, read and retrieve files. In Nextcloud, also read address books and Deck boards.
Edit & send
Store files, create folders and move content. In Nextcloud, create, move and assign Deck cards; create public file links.
How to connect
Server address, username and app password. Access is checked against your file storage.
What you should know
Deck, address books and public links require the relevant Nextcloud features; a generic WebDAV server does not automatically provide them. Changes also affect other users of shared folders.

From account to first task

You open the door. OCTOVO picks up the thread.

  1. Choose a service

    Open “Connections” in the app. Choose your mailbox, calendar or another supported service. Start with only the connections your first task needs.

  2. Authorise access yourself

    Depending on the service, sign in through the browser, provide an app password or grant access in macOS. WhatsApp uses a separate browser session with a QR code.

  3. Start with a reading task

    Ask to see unanswered messages or upcoming meetings. Check the result and choose how independently OCTOVO may act afterwards.

OCTOVO can review the email, find the relevant file and bring both together in a draft. You decide what gets sent.

Calendar + mailbox

Meeting → preparation

“What is on tomorrow? Find the latest emails about my client meeting.”

Your schedule gains context. Instead of switching between calendar and inbox, ask for both to be brought together for your preparation.

Telegram + your running Mac

On the move → on your computer

“Summarise the important new emails for me.”

Send the task in your paired bot chat. OCTOVO works on your computer with the accounts connected there and replies in the chat. Your computer must be running.

Access and action are two decisions

Connected means: you set the boundaries.

What the connection permits

An account grants OCTOVO access to specific content. Provider permissions, macOS approvals and the individual connection limit access.

You can disconnect accounts in the app and revoke access with the provider. For WhatsApp, end the linked browser session. This does not recall messages already sent or content already published.

What your task initiates

Reading, drafting, sending and publishing are different actions. Which ones require confirmation depends on your autonomy level and approval settings.

A public file link makes content accessible without an account. Before sharing, check not just the recipient but also who else could gain access.

What is not connected today.

This overview describes OCTOVO’s current capabilities. A service appearing here is not a promise of a future launch.

LinkedIn

OCTOVO prepares posts. You copy the draft to LinkedIn and publish it there yourself. There is no connected LinkedIn account or automatic reading.

OneDrive / SharePoint

The connection is prepared in OCTOVO but cannot currently be enabled in the app. You cannot connect OneDrive or SharePoint through this workflow yet.

Google Calendar

OCTOVO does not yet provide a usable sign-in flow for Google Calendar. Connecting a Gmail mailbox does not automatically connect your Google Calendar.

Other services

Google Drive, Dropbox, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Signal and local device contacts currently have no enabled direct connection. The previous dedicated WhatsApp connections have been replaced by the browser workflow.
