On Monday morning OCTOVO fetches the new mail onto your device, sorts every email into “important”, “can wait” or “ads” and shows you the threads where someone has been waiting on you for days. Nothing is sent and nothing is deleted.
Use cases · Monday, 7:40
Monday morning. 40 unread emails — and you don’t know where to start.
The weekend has filled the mailbox: enquiries, invoices, newsletters, two follow-ups from customers, a reminder that isn’t one. You scroll, open the third email, jump to the eleventh — and by half past eight you have done nothing yet, but already feel guilty.
What you say
What came in over the weekend — and who is waiting for me?
Typed or spoken — in the app or from your phone.
Alles Neue landet auf drei Stapeln: wichtig, kann warten, Werbung.
- Trigger
- You ask — or every working day at 7:00 as a standing order.
- Arms
- Mailbox.
- Approval
- None needed — nothing leaves here.
- What leaves your device
- Per email the sender, subject and start of the text for sorting — never the mailbox as a whole. The ads check comes from the model on the device.
Re-enacted
What does OCTOVO do when 40 emails are unread?
It fetches the new mail, sorts every email by urgency and whether it needs a reply, and checks which threads have been waiting on you for more than two days. What you get is a short list: who is really waiting, what needs a reply today, what was advertising.
Every line in the conversation is a tool that really exists in the app. The names are invented.
„What came in over the weekend — and who is waiting for me?“
- Fetched the mail 43 new emails · 2 mailboxes done
- Sorted every email 11 important · 13 ads done
- Looked for threads left waiting 4 waiting since Friday done
- Read the four threads with history done
- Bauer & Sons · Hall 2 quote · since Friday
- Roth chambers · missing documents · since Friday
- Ms Kern · question on VAT · since Saturday
- The Weber family · appointment request · since yesterday
Four are really waiting. Eleven need a reply today, the ads are set aside.
Afterwards
What do you see afterwards?
-
Three piles
In the app the mail sits on “important”, “can wait” and “ads”. The ads are not deleted — they just no longer sit on top.
-
Who is waiting for you
The four threads with waiting time and the latest state — each one click away from a reply draft.
-
Nothing has happened
No sending, no deleting, no folder created. Everything it did is in the log: read, sorted, presented.
With you
What stays with you — and where is the limit?
Stays on your device
- Your mailbox: your device talks directly to your provider, no detour through our server. We see neither sender nor subject.
- The sorting: “important”, “can wait”, “ads” is OCTOVO’s assessment and stays on this device — nothing changes in your mail program.
- The log: every action with time, trigger and reason, read-only, undeletable.
Where the limit is
-
It does not search spam, trash or drafts — and says at the end what it searched.
-
If several mailboxes are connected it fetches them all; a search, however, covers one account per call. You say which.
-
If your computer is off on Monday at 7:00, nothing runs. It catches up at start-up and says when it should have run.

Questions about this case
Do I have to type something every morning?
No. One sentence — “Give me this overview every working day at 7:00” — turns it into a recurring order. It sits in the list, shows when it last ran, and can be paused or changed there.
Does OCTOVO read all 40 emails in full?
For sorting, the sender, subject and start of each email are enough. It reads in full the threads that are waiting for a reply — with the history so far and the list of attachments, so it knows more than the last line.
What happens to the ads?
It sits on the third pile and stays in the mailbox. Only if you want it as a rule — “everything from this sender goes” — do matches move to the trash from then on, never permanently. It only unsubscribes from newsletters when asked, with a list of what it would cancel.
